Dysport® is a wrinkle-reduction product that can be injected into certain areas of the face to smooth the skin. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the injectable in April 2009 for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe glabellar lines (the frown lines between the eyebrows)
The product works similarly to Botox® Cosmetic injections; it contains botulinum toxin Type A, an ingredient that temporarily inhibits the nerve cells that signal specific muscles to contract, therefore weakening facial movements that cause fine lines and wrinkles.
